The founder

Founded by
a protector.

Portrait of the GritArmor founder

Protecting the people I love has always been part of who I am.

I founded GRITARMOR with my brothers in mind and a responsibility that extends to every athlete. My ambition is to help them compete with less risk and less restriction, while protecting the health and independence they will rely on for years to come.

That same commitment to others led me to join the Canadian military at 17.

Protect the athlete.
Protect their future.

Experience on the field

The game runs
in my family.

In high school, I played on the offensive line, protecting my brother. He no longer plays, but my younger brothers are still competing. My commitment is to all of them, and to every athlete, through their playing years and the lives that follow.

My father played in both the NFL and CFL. My brother Theo plays in the NFL, my brother Dom played NCAA Division I football, and my younger brother Michael currently plays NCAA Division I football. The game is woven into our family.

Through my father, I saw that the effects of football can reach far beyond a playing career. That perspective shapes why I want better protection for my brothers and for every athlete who gives so much to the game.

A future worth protecting

The final whistle
is not the finish line.

An athlete’s life continues long after their last game. There are careers to build, relationships to nurture and families to be present for. The ability to move comfortably, think clearly and live independently matters far beyond any season.

The physical toll can last.

For some former players, persistent pain and joint problems affect mobility and everyday activities. Brain injury can also cause lasting problems with memory, concentration and balance, as well as persistent headaches. These challenges can affect how a person works, connects with loved ones and takes part in daily life. [1] [2]

Repeated head impacts deserve attention.

The concern extends beyond diagnosed concussions. Repeated head impacts can occur without obvious symptoms. Research links prolonged exposure to repeated head impacts with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, a brain disease involving damage to brain tissue. [3]

Not everyone exposed to repeated head impacts develops CTE. It can currently be confirmed only after death, and memory or mood changes alone do not establish a diagnosis. Those symptoms can have other causes, many of which can be treated. [3]

For me, protecting my brothers means thinking about the decades ahead: their health, their independence and the time they will share with the people they love. Every athlete deserves that same care for their future.

Give the game your all.

For athletes, sport is more than a game. It is a calling. GRITARMOR’s goal is to develop protection that supports full intensity and freedom of movement, with less risk and less restriction. I want athletes to pursue that calling with their future in mind.

GRITARMOR is in development. No clinical benefit or ability to prevent concussion or CTE has been established.
